Hello, and welcome to Outreach!

Want to learn more about our approach to being student led and inclusive, plus some of our exciting new initiatives to empower our community to be confident in pursuing their desired goals without fear of failure or consequence? Scroll down to find out more!

The Oxford Foundry is dedicated to supporting all 23,900+ students at Oxford University in becoming more entrepreneurial by nature and practice. To achieve our ambition, we must be student-led in outlook and practice. The outreach function helps ensure that we create impactful, student-led, and collaborative events and initiatives that reflect the true needs of Oxford University’s diverse and vibrant student community.  We are committed to diversifying what entrepreneurship means in its various forms, and want to show how inclusive entrepreneurship and innovation can be!

Through Outreach, we empower Oxford University students to learn more about the Oxford Foundry and the programmes we offer to equip our community with the skills needed to control their own destinies – whatever one wants to do. Our goal here is to help build a supportive and inclusive community where innovation and creativity lives and breathes. We work hard to engage students at college, divisional, and departmental levels. Importantly, we co-create our programmes with students and support student clubs and societies to expand their reach and experiment with exciting new entrepreneurship-related events and initiatives that engage their members.

Learn more below about some of our exciting initiatives!

1.    OXFO Booster Grants

Does your society want to be in with a chance of securing a £2k OXFO Booster Grant? OXFO Booster Grants give student clubs and societies at Oxford University the chance to apply for a £2k grant for initiatives that introduce entrepreneurship to people at the university. The total funding available for this Grant Programme for the 2018/19 academic year is up to £20,000. We encourage applications from societies of all disciplines to demonstrate that entrepreneurial skills can be applied by people from all backgrounds and specialisms.

Applications now open!

2.    Student advisory board

These are leadership roles offered by the Foundry to presidents of student clubs and societies. The board is composed of representatives from over 30 Oxford clubs and societies ranging from the Boat Club and Boxing society to Blockchain and AI societies. This group meets regularly, and their ideas and input help us to shape our programmes and make sure that all Oxford students can get useful learning and skills at the Foundry. Are you a president of a society and interested in finding out more? If so, we’d love to hear from you! Please email

With the Foundry’s support, I’ve created and delivered a 12-week coding course to over 100 of my fellow students, and I’m now getting valuable work experience through an internship with one of the start-ups that was selected for the OXFO L.E.V8 accelerator. This supports my aspiration to start my own business after graduating.
