The Face of the Future Workforce: Our responsibility to diversify it. As a university we have the power to shape the future workforce. But currently only 1 in 3 UK entrepreneurs are women, a gender gap that’s comparable to 1.1 million missing businesses, and just 0.2% of Venture Capital funding goes to black women founders. Closing this gap could add an additional £250 billion in Gross Value Add to the UK economy and businesses with a woman on the executive team are proven to be more likely to have higher valuations.
We will discuss how we can empower and support more women, people of colour and those from underrepresented groups to become founders and leaders? How can we help address the disparities in entrepreneurship support, celebrate more role models, and create a diverse and confident workforce that represents all of us?
